Sequalitchew Creek
Sequalitchew Creek
DuPont built an explosives factory here in the early 20th century and moved product on narrow-gauge trains to a dock on Puget Sound. The canyon trail follows the old rail bed. The Sequalitchew Creek area is historic. Nisqually-Sequalitchew people lived here for thousands of years. The first South South outpost for Hudson's Bay Company - Fort Nisqually - traded with First People here from 1833 until the late 1850s.
