Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is part of my neighborhood. The Nisqually delta is the traditional fishing ground for the Nisqually, Sequalitchew, Steilacoom, and Squaxin Island people. The Nisqually tribe and fish biologists with the wildlife refuge and Washington departments of Fish and Wildlife and Natural Resources have worked for many years to restore salmon runs to the area. Flora and fauna change by season.
